Development Director well versed in leading fundraising initiatives
for similar sized nonprofit organizations. You are skilled at
building and executing comprehensive development strategies and
serving as an ambassador for influential organizations. You have a
proven success record working with both authority and influence to
manage and steward a portfolio of corporate and individual
relationships to drive growth and achieve defined revenue goals.
WHAT YOU’LL DO The Development Director is accountable for planning
and implementing fundraising strategies and tactics to achieve
income necessary to attain market and regional goals. Primary
duties will include managing cultivation, solicitation, and
stewardship for a portfolio of both existing and new corporate
partners, individual donors, corporate & government grants, and
special events. This individual will be responsible for growing
engagement and revenue across each fundraising channel, while
leading the development team to their budgetary goal. This
individual is responsible for the annual Philadelphia Kidney Walk,
PA NKF Golf Classic, NJ NKF Golf Classic, Honors Event and other
special events as assigned. The ideal candidate must have proven
success in fundraising and/or sales and relationship management.
Fundraising Lead the development team, driving a donor centric
culture, building relationships and implementing best practices to
accomplish market and region financial goalsDevelop and execute the
region’s operational plan that includes budget, financial analysis,
team development, corporate development, volunteer development and
logisticsExecute fundraising strategies to raise budgeted goals
from corporations, individuals, and foundationsPartner with
Executive Director, Regional Director of Philanthropy and Regional
Vice President to grow relationships for individual gifts and board
/volunteer recruitmentDevelop and steward a portfolio of donors to
secure sponsorship, individual and corporate donations, event
sponsors/teams, grants, and other partnerships, including major
giftsProficiency with Salesforce or equivalent customer database
software (e.g., data input, record updating, gift processing,
report production)Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and
steward sponsors, supporters and event participants ensuring a
high-touch stewardship plan for donors and partnersManage grant
solicitation from corporations and foundations in partnership with
the Executive DirectorManage and execute events including but not
limited to the Philadelphia Kidney Walk, PA NKF Golf Classic, NJ
NKF Golf Classic, and NKF Honors Events, support fundraising
efforts for other events in the market as applicableManage social
media and local marketing in collaboration with the Executive
Director and teamMaintain relationships with medical and corporate
donors and partnersIdentify committee members, leads the effort to
build stronger committees and identifies and builds volunteer and
donor support networks Additional Direct management of the
Development Manager and Development CoordinatorIdentify new sources
of revenue and cause related marketing opportunities for
NKF.Identify national opportunities per NKF guidelines.Implement
marketing and communication plans to enhance visibility and
increase community awareness and participation.Participate in board
and staff meetings as scheduled/needed.Perform additional duties as
assigned. WHAT YOU’LL POSSESS Bachelor’s degree from an accredited
college or university or equivalentMinimum five years related
experience in fundraising, event management, and volunteer
management; preferably with a non-profit health agencyExperienced
in sponsorship solicitation, major and annual givingExperience
working with board membersExperience working with a national
walkathon or equivalent event preferredExcellent verbal and written
communication skillsAbility to lead and to work independently and
as a member of a teamExceptional level of customer service and
interpersonal skillsFluent in Word applications and donor
management systemsExcellent organizational and time management

of initiatives and builds relationships that strengthen NKF’s
impact in the community WORKING CONDITIONS, EQUIPMENT USED AND
SPECIAL INFORMATION Must have unimpeachable integrity and
trustworthiness and possess a high degree of tact, discretion and
professionalism. Verbal and written communication skills will be
used daily. Maintains effectiveness under pressure. Uses a multiple
line telephone, personal computer, fax machine, photocopier and
other standard office equipment. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Must
have a valid driver’s license and own insured vehicle or daily
access to a vehicle. Flexible for business travel including
overnight travel. Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
