Job Description:
Year Up is seeking a Software Job Training Program Instructor
who will be instrumental in shaping the future of young adults by
providing them with skills in coding, software development, and
technology. This position is designed for a passionate professional
committed to closing the opportunity divide by delivering a
curriculum that combines academic instruction and practical,
industry-aligned skills. As an instructor, you will be responsible
for fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment
that encourages innovation and continuous learning. Develop and
deliver a comprehensive software development curriculum tailored to
meet industry needs and student learning goals. Mentor and support
students throughout their academic and internship phases to
facilitate personal and professional growth. Evaluate student
progress and provide regular feedback to ensure they meet program
milestones and industry standards. Collaborate with tech industry
partners to maintain a relevant, up-to-date curriculum and secure
internship opportunities. Lead by example, fostering an inclusive,
supportive, and challenging learning environment. Strong knowledge
of software development principles and languages such as Java,
Python, and JavaScript. Experience in curriculum development and
teaching in a diverse educational environment. Ability to mentor
and motivate students, providing guidance and support throughout
the program. Capable of building partnerships within the tech
industry to enhance educational content and internship
opportunities. Teaching certification preferred. Certificates like
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),
Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), or similar are
highly valued.
