Job Description:

Description Responsible for maintaining the patient registration process for the organization. Obtains medical records, consent and insurance forms and other documentation from patients in a orderly manner. Registers the appropriate forms and scans into the medical record system as per department protocols. Scheduling outpatient testing, review of tests, and authorization process. The Registrar provides regular monitoring and response to telephone queues, assists patients with questions or navigate to proper location in a multi-level/multi-specialty facility. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Conducts interviews and collects information about the patients such as medical history, personal information and other requests or treatment preferences. Schedule outpatient testing via telephone or in person contact. 2. Ensures proper data entry into the system. 3. Guides patients in the filling of entry forms and enrollment or admissions process and connects patients to the necessary resources/point of contacts. 4. Directs patients towards the appropriate personnel for the next steps towards the treatment. 5. Prepares identification bracelets and collects insurance related information from the patients. 6. Issues receipts to patients, manages cash balances and uses audits and controls to manage cash accurately and safely. 7. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred: 1. Associate's degree in healthcare, Business Administration or related field. 2. Experience in a Health Care Facility, Hospital System or relevant area.
