Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Radiology Technician - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 04/13/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Radiologic Technologist I - Xray Tech Location Hackensack, New Jersey Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Day shift - Weekdays Job Description The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level, requiring minimal supervision while performing essential job functions. Responsibilities - Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs, and utilizing required equipment. - Restricts radiation exposure to unaffected parts using collimating devices. - Performs portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms. - Identifies and labels patient films correctly with necessary details. - Develops exposed x-ray films using available processing methods. - Completes patient requisitions accurately. - Maintains an organized x-ray room as directed by department leadership. - Prepares and assists in administering radiopaque contrast media to patients. - Handles administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and record maintenance as required. - Provides assistance to patients with mobility needs depending on their abilities. - Adheres to standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure - Minimum of 1 year of orthopedic experience preferred. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Completion of an accredited school of Radiology Technology and clinical requirements. - Must possess a New Jersey State License. - Eligible to meet requirements for the National Registry and capable of passing the examination.
