The Geisinger Skilled Nursing Program is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to 'float' to various skilled nursing facilities in northeast Pennsylvania. Job Duties This position is as a Geisinger provider in a non-Geisinger facility and requires an experienced advanced practitioner (AP), prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility, family medicine, internal medicine or ICU. The AP provides direct (hands-on) care in skilled nursing facilities with a goal to improve quality and prevent unnecessary re-admissions to the acute care setting. This position has a $10,400 float differential and will travel to these locations, but are not limited to: Mountain Top Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Mountain Top Birchwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Nanticoke Lakewood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Nanticoke The Meadows, Dallas Embassy of Wyoming Valley, Wilkes Barre, Embassy of Scranton, Scranton Oak Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Scranton Geisinger has much to offer: $10,400 float differential $15k recruitment incentive Attractive schedule - Monday - Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm Rotating call schedule No weekend hours Continuing Medical Education – 10 days and $3,000 annually Six paid holidays Paid Time Off - 23 days Responsibilities: Review reports Communicate with SNF staff for patient needs Treat patients for acute needs, admissions, discharges, etc. Manage extremely complex patients, see every day or at least once a week Approximately 12 patients a day Length of time per patient and number of patients is per need EducationMaster's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required)Certification(s) and License(s)Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing BodySkillsPatient Safety; Clinical Policies And Standards; Patient Assessment And Care; Health Information Documentation; Patients Rights; Care Management KnowledgeAbout Geisinger Founded more than 100 years ago by Abigail Geisinger, the system now includes ten hospital campuses, a 550,000-member health plan, two research centers and the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.
