Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Cardiac Sonographer - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Sonographer to perform advanced adult echocardiography in a busy cardiac operating room, with current ARDMS or CCI credentials and strong inpatient echo skills required. Responsibilities - Position is in a cardiac operating room department at a major hospital - Primary focus on adult inpatient echo studies following ASE and IAC guidelines - Procedures involve valvular assessment, spectral Doppler, Pedoff, contrast echocardiography, and agitated saline studies - Average shift is 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, four days per week, including weekends - Schedule includes two options: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday or Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday - May float to a nearby sister hospital as needed - Uses Philips ie33 and Epiq ultrasound systems, with Epic EMR charting - Main responsibilities include patient preparation, performing and reviewing echo studies, and responding to critical findings - Responsible for maintaining accurate records, inventory, and equipment setup - Required to review prior reports, patient charts, and ensure completeness of all studies - Team setting in an echo lab that adheres to ICAEL-accreditation standards - No local candidates accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility - Travelers may stay on assignment for up to one year before requiring a break - Scrub or dress code will follow hospital policy Requirements - Valid ARDMS or CCI credential in cardiac diagnostic medical sonography - Current BLS certification from AHA - High school diploma or GED required - Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases required - Strong skills in valvular assessment, spectral Doppler, Pedoff, contrast, and agitated saline studies - Experience in hospital-based inpatient echo essential - Active NJ state license required if applicable - Experience with Epic EMR preferred - Graduation from a CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred - TEE and Stress Echo experience preferred Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-619880.
